random musings and things that tickle my fancy

I put up some photos of the wedding stationery I recently completed for Marisa and JP in my portfolio. Give it a look-see. I have some other wedding stationery on there as well: Jessica & Phil’s and Julie & Brian’s. Click on the main image or the link to the right of the main image to see more. I plan on re-vamping my entire site and making it more user-friendly soon, so be on the lookout for that as well. Enjoy!

Designed and hand assembled by the lovely and talented Sandra, my Maid of Honor.

It says:
Erica’s wedding is not far
So let’s gather to stock her bar
Fill her shelves with liquor and wine
So glasses will be full when guests come to dine!
Join us for a Stock the Bar shower honoring

I didn’t really want to have a shower originally, but the moms really wanted to do it, and I’m glad. I think it’s going to be so much fun! Stock the bar…how can you go wrong with that?!
Thank you again sooooooo much, Sandra! These came out awesome!!!

We had our ‘final’ meeting with our DJ. It was really difficult to choose all of our special songs, even though we’re forgoing some of the wedding traditions (garter toss, bouquet toss, father/daughter dance). But choose we did, and I’m happy that one more thing is checked off the list! The only song that’s still up in the air is the song I’ll be walking down the aisle to. I have a few ideas but I want it to be a surprise…so you’ll just have to wait and see! :)

If I hadn’t already bought my shoes, I would totally buy these:

Oh god, I think I’m in love!

So we had our tasting at La Perla Bistro and chose our buffet menu a couple weeks ago. I have to say that the food was delicious and it was a fun time out with the folks. I was surprised by how much food we got – it was a TON! I was thinking we’d only be getting little bites of stuff but I was definitely satiated by the end! Here’s what we chose:

  • Appetizers
Pinwheels Wrapped in Light Pastry: Artichoke, dijon and sharp cheddar
Fresh Pear Purses: Pears, brie and caramelized pecan in pastry
  • Salads
Mansion Salad: Bleu cheese, sun dried cranberries, walnuts, strawberry vinaigrette
Spinach Salad: Baby spinach, bermuda onions and crisp bacon, balsamic vinaigrette
  • Warm Fall Pasta: Green beans and mushrooms in a light pesto cream (soooooo delicious!)
  • Tuscan Grilled Vegetables: Fresh vegetables smoked on the grill and drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. Mushrooms, sweet peppers, eggplant, bermuda onions, potatoes, carrots and broccoli
  • Freshly Baked Artisan Breads: Italian foccaccia herb bread and sourdough baguettes with sweet butter
  • Rotisserie Roasted Beef Crossrib
  • Beverages
Non-Alcoholic: Lemonade, Iced Tea, Arnold Palmer and Coffee
Wines: Esser Vineyards Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Savignon
Beers: Heineken, Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams Light

And now I’m hungry!

The funniest thing about our tasting is that Tory was most excited about the beer choices. They told us we could choose ANY three beers and that made him quite the happy camper! Tory’s dad asked us what we’re having for dessert…wedding cake (which we get to taste tomorrow!) from Ginger Elizabeth, of course! I can’t wait!
